About Pixar

Pixar is an animation studio owned by the Walt Disney Company. Pixar is particularly known for their CGI animations and 3D movies. They have earned 22 Academy Awards and 4 Golden Globes, with 3 Grammys. Pixar began making films in 1979 as part of Lucasfilm. In 2006 Walt Disney bought the company from Apple. It was in 1995 that Pixar began making their own films, rather than working on CGI and other renderings for studio films. The first film was Toy Story. A Bug’s Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille, Wall-E, and Up are those films. The 11th film is being made now to be released in 2010. This film is Toy Story 3. Pixar is known for more than their films. They are also known for their animated shorts, which come at the beginning of films. These shorts were made for Lucasfilms and Apple before being played in front of their own movies. Pixar has now expanded to television and live action films.

Dressing up as Pixar

For children and adults there are several costumes to choose from when it comes to Pixar. To give you a few ideas I will begin with Wall E. Wall E was released in 2008. It was the first Pixar film to be shown with only music and mechanical sounds. Now voices where used. Walle costumes provide a rubber like material in the shape of a square. This is the body, and then the costume comes with Wall E like hands as pinchers. Goggles for Wall E eyes are also included. If Wall E is not a favorite {Mr. Incredible} might be. This costume is a red latex suit with the I Incredibles logo in black and yellow. Accompanying the costume are black boots, a black and yellow shorts, and black mask. For girls Dory from Finding Nemo is popular. Dory is a blue and black fish, with a yellow spot. The costume often sits horizontal on the body. {Mrs. Incredible} is another option.
