Pigs have been used for costumes in numerous ways over the last few decades. While it is not always a popular outfit there have been cute baby costumes or swine costumes. The idea of pig costumes arose from the actual pigs. Pigs are of course an animal that we use as livestock, but they have been immortalized in Hollywood films as well. The Three Little Pigs is one of the most well known fairy tale stories with the big bad wolf coming to tear their houses down. Then you have the swine character that has also been depicted in a few movies. Most of the time the swine are in costume films where they are evil characters. Babe is another movie that has used pigs or Charlotte’s Web.

Dressing up as Pig

To dress up as a pig you have a few choices. Most of the costumes are going to be for babies or little children. They are often pink costumes with little hoodies for the head with the pig face and ears. They are a complete suit made of cotton so they are warm and comfortable. The suits often come complete with tails. To vary this costume you may decide to add a shirt such as you might see in the Three Little Pigs cartoon. The swine costume is more for the adult as it is a more evil appearance when you want a little mischief. Usually you have clothing on to finish up the costume with pig hands and a tail. You can also have an adult sized pig costume. To save a little money you might choose to wear just the nose portion of the costume for the face and finish it with pink clothing you have hanging around. Big Bad Wolf is an accompaniment to the whole pig theme if you are looking for something a little more.
