About Pea

Green legumes with pods that encase a soft ball, which is actually an edible seed are peas. Botanically the pea is considered a fruit, but it is a vegetable when it is cooked. Peas are an annual plant with a life cycle of one year. Peas have the ability to grow in cool temperatures making it a great plant for many countries around the world. Planting is often set up during winter to allow the crop to grow during early summer. Peas will weigh between .1 and .36 grams. Fresh, frozen, or canned peas are available in stores. This vegetable can be used to make split pea soup or as an accompaniment to a variety of dishes. Peas are usually found in soups, vegetable medleys, and stir fry dishes. There are a number of different peas such as snow peas. Peas are high in vitamins making them a good source for nutrition.

Dressing up as Pea

Peas make one of the cutest baby costumes available. Many of the infant costumes are set up as bunting costumes. The bunting keeps the legs inside and warm, but also allow easy access for dipper changes. The pea costume is green with the pod as the main costume and little balls symbolizing the seeds on the front. Costumes usually have three seeds. To cap off the costume is a green top with a stem much like a pea pod has when it has been picked.
