About Parrots
Parrots are very colorful birds (for the most part, unless you count the African Grey parrot) of which there are 372 different varieties, including the Toucan and the smaller parakeet. While found in the wild, particularly in tropical or jungle settingsThey have a long, curved beak and stand upright. Additionally, parrots are very smart, able to be trained to "talk" and say human phrases in addition the "squawks" and other sounds commonly made by parrots. Commonly associated with seafaring and world-traveling pirates, parrots are often shown perched atop a pirate's shoulder as a pet.
Dressing up as a Parrot
Take to flights of fancy dressed as a parrot with brightly colored mascot style costumes in piles of green plush or other multi-colored combinations. Another easy-to-wear parrot costume allows the wearer to put their arms into sleeves shaped like feathered parrot wings in a multitude of colors. Also included is a character hood with a beak.
If you're not into dressing as a parrot -- accessorize with one with several clever pirate-themed parrot items. The Parrot bracelet makes it look like a parrot is perched upon your wrist. Other toy parrots come in 9", 12" and 20" sizes with feathers as accents for a realistic touch. These parrots are great for decorating a Hawaiian luau or backyard BBQ for a colorful, tropical touch.
