About Padme Amidala

Played by Natalie Portman in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, Padme Amidala is one of the most important characters in the whole of the Star Wars universe. As Queen of the planet Naboo and later an influential member of the intergalactic Senate, Padme was secretly married to the Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, the man who would later turn to the Dark Side of the Force and become Darth Vader. Before she died, Padme gave birth to twins, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia.
