About Pacman

Pacman is a video arcade game from the 80’s. It was first released in the US from Japan on May 22, 1980. The first Pacman was quite simple you were shown a screen with yellow dots, three Pacman faces, and some power ups. The power ups where rounded dots to eat which would quell the ghosts trying to catch Pacman so that he could eat them. The premise was to kill all the ghosts, while eating all the dots on the screen for points and to get to the next level. Cherries were fruit that would appear every so often. There were four ghosts. Ms. Pacman came a little later. Pacman was also turned into a television show in 1982. It lasted until 1984. There were 43 episodes. The series had an ongoing battle with the Ghost Monsters who worked for a mysterious figure a lot like Darth Vader and Gargamel from Smurfs. The bad guy wanted to control the Power Pellets in Pac Land. Since the series PlayStation and Nameco have come out with newer versions of the old fave, with a lot more fun and interesting worlds since it is a lot like Mario working his way up through the bosses.

Dressing up as Pacman

Pacman and {Ms. Pacman} costumes are still popular today for the sheer difference they can offer during Halloween. Pacman costumes are a simple yellow ball, with arms and feet. The feet should have red shoes for Pacman. The face is actually a part of the yellow ball construction. The costume has a wide mouth, slightly elongated nose, and two cartoon style eyes. You would also need orange gloves. For Ms. Pacman a pink bow and pink shoes would be needed.
