About Over the Hedge

Based on the comic strip by Michael Fry and T. Lewis, Over the Hedge was made into an animated film by DreamWorks in 2006. The film and the comic featured animals the fast-talkin' RJ Raccoon, spiritual Verne the Turtle, and high-strung Hammy the Squirrel who find their woodland life threatened by suburban sprawl. They also have other woodland animal friends, however, the three characters provide "Over the Hedge's" main core personalities who drive the storyline. In the film, Bruce Willis provided the voice of RJ, while Steve Carrell voiced Hammy. Additionally, Gary Shandling did the voice work for Verne the Turtle.

Dressing up as characters from Over the Hedge

Toddlers and kids can dress up as two of their favorite characters from the animated film, Over the Hedge. Officially licensed costumes based on the likenesses of RJ Raccoon and Verne the Turtle are available. Each costume comes with a comfy, faux fur plush bodysuit with foot covers and a character mask that sits atop your child's head and allows his or her face to peek out. The RJ Raccoon costume comes in brown with a lighter brown panel on the chest and tummy with an attached tail in the back. Verne the Turtle's costume comes in a light green shade with an attached "shell" in a darker green/brown on the back.
