About Optimus Prime

Optimus Prime is the compassionate, yet brave and battle-ready leader of the heroic Autobots in the Transformers franchise of cartoons and films. Optimus, along with his Autobots and the evil robots known as the Decepticons came to planet Earth from their homeworld of Cybertron, which was destroyed by the constant warring between the Autobots and Decepticons. As a result, Prime and his Autobots found themselves on Earth, with the Autobots swearing to protect their new planet and the humans they share it with. On Cybertron, Optimus was called Orion Pax, an energy plant worker who was seriously injured by Megatron. He was rebuilt and became a warrior to defeat the Decepticons. His towering form converts into an 18-wheeler truck. With a booming voice and a gentle manner, Optimus is a friend to mechanical creatures as well as humans, protecting all those he calls friend.

Dressing up as Optimus Prime

Adults and kids can dress up as the Autobot leader, Optimus Prime. Whether you're an longtime fan of the Transformers dating back to the '{80s} or a newer convert to the epic battle between Autobots and Decepticons, there's a costume to "transform" you into your favorite character.

Available in styles that channel the original '80s Optimus or the sleeker, more modern version shown in the films, these officially licensed Transformers costumes are available in a range of adult and kids sizs. The classic, cartoon version is rendered in primary colors in bright red and blue with grey accents. It comes with a one-piece jumpsuit with boxy, foam pieces to create the chest pieces that transform into the cab of Optimus' 18-wheeler. Also included are boot covers as well as gauntlets and a full-coverage foam character mask.

The newer, live-action film based Optimus costume features 3D armor with a metallic, lame' sheen to it, giving a realistic illusion of a robot ready to transform! The one-piece jumpsuit features blue, silver/grey , and red metallic accents with a plastic mask to complete the look.
