About Old Lady
The term old lady is applied to an older generation woman. It doesn’t even have to mean someone with gray hair instead the term is more subjective. A young child of three or four might consider someone in their thirties to be an old lady. The general perception or stereotype is that of a woman in her 60’s and over, or at least any woman with a full head of gray hair. Old Ladies are accompanied by old men. The same distinction would apply for an old man. Any man with gray hair and wrinkled skin need apply for the position!
Dressing up as Old Lady
In the realm of Old Lady you have a couple of costumes to choose from. There is granny from the Beverly Hillbilly’s. This old lady was short, very skinny, and wore 70’s style dresses. The dress would be a long sleeve affair, with white neck collar, and nothing revealing. Even the skirt of the dress would be ankle length. A blue print with flowers, black boots, and a gray bun almost complete the look. You cannot forget the glasses of the rounded variety. An old lady could also be {Mrs. Claus} with round glasses, hair bun, and red dress to match Santa’s outfit. The other popular depiction of Old Lady is from Little Red Riding Hood. Granny in this case takes two forms- the Big Bad Wolf and her human form. The human form is as described above with dress, glasses, and gray hair in a bun. For the wolf you would need a Wolf costume, the bonnet and bedclothes of granny and the glasses. “My What Big Teeth You Have!” Is a common utterance for this look.
