About Obi Wan Kenobi

Obi Wan Kenobi was the Jedi padawan who was trained by Qui Gon Jinn and who later became the mentor to Anakin Skywalker. He bested many in battle on behalf of the side of good and The Force, including Darth Maul (who killed his master, Jinn) and General Grievous. When his former-Padawan, Anakin turned to the Dark Side, he fought him in battle, severing his arm and both legs, leaving him for dead to burn on the lava pits of Mustafar. This was Kenobi's biggest mistake as Anakin was rescued by Palpatine and became the fearsome Darth Vader.

In later years, due to the Emperor's desire to hunt and kill all of the galaxy's Jedi, Kenobi went into hiding on the planet Tattooine using the name Ben Kenobi. He kept watch over one of Anakin's twins, Luke Skywalker and eventually trained the boy in the ways of the Force. In a battle on the Death Star, Obi Wan was defeated and killed by his former apprentice, Darth Vader in a lightsaber duel. Obi-Wan still found a way to come back and impart wisdom to Luke using the Force to bring his ghost back periodically.
