About Norman Bates

Alfred Hitchcock was the master of mystery. He could create a film that would make your skin crawl or your mind keep guessing as to who might be the killer. Perhaps one of the most famous movies ever directed by Hitchcock is Psycho. It is a well known fact that Janet Leigh could not take a shower after the shower scene she was a part of in the movie. It probably didn’t help that Anthony Perkins helped portray Norman Bates so well. Norman Bates suffered from emotional abuse all his life at the hands of his mother. Psychology tells us that this can produce serial killers, and Norman Bates was certainly a killer. With the evil of sex and women taught to him early, Norman first murders his mother and her lover. With a little jump into dissociate identity disorder, Bates assumes his mother’s personality and goes around killing any women who stay in his motel. He also keeps his mother’s corpse in the manor house where he lives.

Revive this black and white killer with a Norman Bates costume for your next costume party or Halloween. You can go for the normal Norman Bates look of the quiet business man just running an inn or you can go for the Psycho mother’s dress appearance.
