About Night Owl
In the film and graphic novel, Watchmen a man named Hollis Mason is the first Night Owl. It is Mason who writes a tell-all book on the history of the Watchmen. The mantle of the Night Owl is later taken up by Dan Dreiberg, who remains close with the Mason, the original and looks to him for guidance. Nite Owl is the Watchman most dependant upon his persona as a superhero to feel fulfilled and comes alive when the story's mystery begins to unravel, playing an important role in deciphering it. He also has a romantic relationship with Laurie, the Silk Spectre.
