About Nero

The main villain in the newest Star Trek film, Nero was also the Roman emperor who succeeded the simple, yet well-intentioned Claudius. During his reign from 54 AD to 68 AD, Nero was known for his extreme cruelty and insanity. Historical legends often depict Nero playing his fiddle at one of his lavish parties as the city of Rome burned.

In the newest Star Trek film directed by J.J. Abrams, Nero is rumored to be the name of its main villain, a Romulan pirate with heavy facial tattoos. Nero is to be played by actor Eric Bana.

Dressing up as Nero

Costume yourself as a grand villain from the past or one from the future with Nero costumes. Dress as the Roman emperor Nero with a long white toga with a royal blue toga drape trimmed in opulent gold. A golden laurel crown tops off this decadent look. Accessorize with a pair of Roman sandals and a toy violin to fiddle with while the city burns!

Or, dress as the newest villain from the Star Trek series of films with officially licensed costume items. The key to putting together this will be the Nero accessory kit which includes a bald cap adorned with tribal tattoos, a sheet of press-on tattoos for your face to replicate Nero's facial markings, and Romulan ears. Also consider the Nero gun in white with intricate red detailing on it. No adult costumes have been released for Nero yet, but you can accomplish the look with a pair of leather or PVC pants and nehru style jacket in addition to black boots as a strong basis until official costumes hit the market. Children's costumes are, however, available with a long, duster coat and additonal accessories.
