About Muppet

The Muppets or a Muppet is the creation of Jim Henson. Henson created puppet characters that he called Muppets. They first appeared in the Muppet Show. The reason for the word Muppet is because they are puppets and marionettes, so Jim Henson combined the words. Disney is currently the owner of the Muppets along with Bryan Henson. The most popular and well known Muppet is Kermit the Frog or Kermit. Cartoons and movies have been created based on the Muppets. There was even a baby Muppet show in the 80’s. Along with Kermit is Miss Piggy, Gonzo, and Fozzy Bear. The Muppet Movie made in 1979 was the first movie made with the Muppets and live actors. The Great Muppet Caper came out in 1981, with Muppets Take Manhattan three years later. With the Muppets Sesame Street characters has also been in the films, most particularly the first film. The Muppet Christmas Carol of 1992 was based on Charles Dickens’ novel. Other films include Muppet Treasure Island, Muppets from Space, and The Muppets Wizard of Oz.

Dressing up as Muppet

They are furry, cute, and funny! Before you can be a Muppet you have to figure out which Muppet is your favorite. Kermit is one of the more popular Muppets and the star of the shows. Kermit is a frog which means you have a green plush jumpsuit with a frog head hood. The hood has two Kermit frog eyes and even the heart shaped mouth. You can get Kermit in children and adult sizes. Miss Piggy is another favorite. Miss Piggy is definitely a pig with style. You would need the full plush jumpsuit and pig head. Then some swank clothing, blonde wig, and high pitched voice. She is Kermit’s love interest so make sure if you have Kermit you do not forget Miss Piggy. Gonzo is a great costume option. Gonzo is one of the other favorite Muppets. Gonzo is an undefined animal of blue and a hooked nose. He loves a chicken so make sure you have a female chicken along if you want to be Gonzo.
