munchkin Costume Ideas
About Munchkin
From their first appearance in 1900 in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by Frank Baum, Munchkins have become a source of joy and wonder. Their high pitched voices and short stature give these adult creatures a childlike charm and make munchkin children seem like they will never grow up (no pun intended). More recently, another munchkin by the name of Boq appeared in the novel turned Broadway production of Wicked. Munchkins have remained lovable, fascinating creatures for over 100 years and are sure to stick around for many more to come. They just king of GROW on you!
Dressing up as Munchkin
Munchkins come in all shapes and sizes, and both children and adults can enjoy a costume no matter what your actual height! Children can choose from a variety of munchkin styles, boys or girls. Adults can follow the Yellow Brick Road and select from their favorite notable munchkin characters such as a member of the Lollipop Guild, the Coroner, or the Mayor of Munchkin City. Fun moustaches and sometimes colorful wigs along with pointed shoes and striped tights complete munchkin costumes so you will look like you stepped right out of Oz!
