About Mr. Peanut
Everything from ‘Salt to Nuts” in Mr. Peanut costumes awaits you! Mr. Peanut is the mascot of Planters Company, which is a snack food business and part of the Kraft Foods Corporation. Mr. Peanut is an anthropomorphic peanut with class. As a gentleman Mr. Peanut has appeared in numerous TV commercials and even as an animated cartoon character. In the latest commercials Mr. Peanut has been CGI or computer animated with real world settings. Though he is animated, he rarely speaks, instead allowing a narrator to tell the tale. In 2006 planters had their 100th anniversary. Mr. Peanut is not quite as old. He first appeared in 1916.
Dressing up as Mr. Peanut
Mr. Peanut costumes begin with a yellow peanut shell made of soft polyester material. The peanut part of the costume will sit over the head, allowing your face to be the head. The costume does not come with black leggings or long sleeve shirt, but these are needed to give your Mr. Peanut the right look. A top hat with Mr. Peanut written on it in white, white gloves, a monocle, spats, and a cane are also needed to get the costume correct. If you want a family of food mascots for your costume party you might want to invite the {M&M} clan and Oscar Myer Weiner. But beware of elephants at your party I hear they love Peanuts!!
