About Mother Nature
An anthropomorphic being, Mother Nature is the name given to any and all forces of nature. Her image varies, but can be a woman of any age, clothed in green and earth tones, usually decorated with flowers in her hair. The concept of Mother Nature hearkens back to the days of ancient fertility and nature goddesses, such as Demeter, the Greek goddess of agriculture and mother to Persephone, who became wife to Hades, Lord of the Underworld.
