About Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus is the daughter of country crooner Billy Ray Cyrus who portrays the teenage Disney singing sensation, Hannah Montana on the show geared towards kids and tweens. An accomplished singer and performer in her own right, Miley Cyrus was born Destiney Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992. She was given the nickname "Miley" due to her happy nature as a child who was very "smiley," hence it became her stage name. She began taking acting lessons at a young age and acted on both her father's television series, "Doc" as well as Tim Burton's film "Big Fish." At the age of 12, she landed the role of Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana on the Disney series... From there, her career took off. Some of her hits include the show's theme "Best of Both Worlds" and the ballad from the Hannah Montana movie, "The Climb."
