About Michael Jackson

Born on August 29th, 1958 in Gary, IN, young Michael Jackson got his start performing with his older brothers in singing group, The Jackson 5. In 1971, he embarked on a solo career and became the "King of Pop," unleashing such record-breaking albums like "Off the Wall," "Bad," and "Thriller." A sometimes controversial figure, Michael Jackson is often known as "Whacko Jacko" and "The Gloved One" thanks to numerous trips to the plastic surgeon and his penchant for wearing gloves, particularly the single, silver, sequinned glove he used to sport in the {80s}. Jackson was married briefly to Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of Elvis. His second marriage to Debbie Rowe produced two children, Prince Michael and Paris. Jackson also had a third child, known sometimes as "Blanket." Prior to the launch of his extravagant farewell tour, Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009. The world mourned his passing and celebrated his legacy, although circumstances surrounding his untimely death may indicate foul play.

Dressing up as Michael Jackson

No need to book an appointment with your plastic surgeon to look like Michael Jackson! Just pick up a costume and accessories to transform yourself into the Gloved One. Put on a highly detailed latex Wacko Jacko mask complete with synthetic hair and Jackson's surgically altered features. Or, for a much more subdued tribute to the King of Pop, put on a Michael Jackson jacket costume in either a military/marching band style or his classic red (faux) leather look from the "Beat It" video. Don't forget the white nylon socks to be prominently displayed beneath black dresspants with appropriate shoes for doing Michael's famous moonwalk. Put on a sequin glove in silver and either a jheri curl wig or a King of Pop wig... Just stay away from open flame.
