About Medusa

Greek Mythology has been very prominent in our history as it is the belief in several Gods fighting amongst each other to manipulate humans. Medusa is one of those characters from Mythology. The name means guardian or queen. Medusa was considered a sea nymph and was considered a love of Poseidon. When Athena found out that Poseidon and she shared some memorable times in her temple she turned the pretty sea nymph into a monstrous beast with snakes rather than hair. Along with her looks changing if you were to run into her she would turn you to stone with her look. In Geek Mythology she was beheaded by Perseus, who used her head as a weapon.

Dressing up as Medusa

Medusa is often pictured in Greek costume, so to dress as her for Halloween you might want to choose a Greek style dress; even a slightly medieval dress with fit in with the costume. As long as the dress has a tight bodice with a slight v- neck with a long skirt you will be fine. You can add a flowing shall to the picture. No Medusa costume is going to be complete without adding in the fake snake hair. Hercules and other Greek gods or goddesses will be a great accompaniment to your costume for your friends.
