About Maleficent

Maleficent is a Disney character from Sleeping Beauty based on the evil sorceress created by Charles Perrault. Maleficent first saw the big screen in 1959 and they have since released the tale of Sleeping Beauty on DVD. Maleficent is a hard women bent on revenge for being ignored during the birth of Princess Aurora. She is so angry in fact that Maleficent curses Princess Aurora to an eternal sleep, which Prince Philip wakes her from. Of course this means that Prince Philip also battles Maleficent to get to Princess Aurora. In the movie Maleficent’s final scene is as a dragon that is pierced with a sword.

Dressing up as Maleficent

The costume for maleficent can be found in adult sizes. There are also a couple of child size costumes available. There is a costume for almost any budget that you have. Maleficent will have a purple gown based in renaissance or medieval design. Over the dress is a wicked looking black cap with high collar. Most of the costume will also come with the head piece that slightly resembles horns of the devil. Princess Aurora and Prince Philip are other costume ideas along with Fairy or Fairy Godmother costumes. Maleficent costumes also offer a staff with a crow on the top if you wish.
