A mailman or mail carrier is a person who delivers the mail. They are a post office employee who typically drives around in a van with the mail for various houses. They will then put the mail in the correct mail boxes as they move around. Today a mailman is usually called a mail carrier because it offers a politically correct term for both male and female carriers. There have been some famous mail carriers in the past like Rob Arnold who became a pop star in New Zealand. You also have Olivier Besancenot who ran for president in France in 2002 and 2007. David Harvey was a football star and there was also Gladys Hiller.

The costumes for mailman will vary depending on child and adult, but they are typically very similar. For example a child’s costume is usually the blue pants, blue short- sleeve shirt, postal hat, and bag. For an adult costume you could be a 1st class piece of mail or a postal worker. Mail carrier and Mail Men are other options you might consider for your costume.
