About Madeline

Madeline is the heroine of a series of children's books about a little girl and her friends who grows up in the 1930 in a convent in France. Of all the girls in the orphanage who walk in straight lines, Madeline is the smallest -- and also the bravest! She is kind, yet mischevious and her adventurs comprise several books that are still in production today. The series' original author, Ludwig Bemelmans's descendants took on the story and it is still going strong today with a cartoon and a live action film that was made several years ago.

Dressing up as Madeline

Bookish little girls will love dressing up as the smart and fun Madeline with officially licensed costumes based on the series' protagonist. The costume includes Madeline's familiar blue coat with attached white peter pan-style collar and a red tie. Also included is a yellow sailor-type hat with long black ribbons running down the back.
