About Lancelot

Lancelot is a fictional character and a knight of the Round Table. Lancelot is part of the Arthurian Legend, which some consider to be true. In Hollywood we have perpetuated the myth with numerous movies, perhaps the most well known being with Sean Connery and Richard Gere. Sir Lancelot was a most important knight to King Arthur until it was discovered he was having an affair with Queen Guinevere. The stories surrounding Lancelot also have him searching for the Holy Grail. The tales are designed on chivalry, romance, and of course heroic tales that one cannot help but like. The stories typically date to the 12th and 13th century, but there are also newer tales being created about Lancelot and Arthur.

Dressing up as Lancelot

Lancelot is first and foremost a knight which means any costume you have will be based on the 12th to 13th century uniforms of knights. To begin with the Lancelot costume you will need a tunic with hose. You have plenty of choices in this from gold and black to red and black. Red and black for the tunic colors are most appropriate if you want your costume to stick with the legends. Over the tunic you can elect to have chain mail, armor breast plating, and leg armor. You may also want a shield and you will need a fake sword. You may also have a helmet. There are numerous costume accessories you can choose for Lancelot for both children and adult costumes. Do not forget Lady Guinevere as your leading lady!
