About Kung Fu

Although it is one of the most famous of all Asian martial arts, Kung Fu, the term doesn't neccessarily always have to refer to hand-to-hand combat. "Kung Fu" is the recognition of arriving at success through hard work and perseverence. The art of Kung Fu originated in China over 5,000 years ago.

In terms of fighting, Kung Fu recognizes a number of styles based off of animals and nature with postures and defenses mimicking the natural ones of these creatures. Some of these styles include crane, dragon, and tiger among others.

Dressing up Kung Fu

"Everybody was Kung-Fu Fighting!" Okay, maybe not considering that novelty song came out a few decades ago. However, the real, martial ART of Kung Fu is still alive and well!

One of the most popular animated movies to hit theatres this year was Kung Fu Panda, sure to be a popular costume with kids. In child sizes with a stuffed bodysuit and character hood mask, your kung fu will be strong!

Other Kung Fu inspired costumes include a Kung Fu Master mask and costume modeled after Kill Bill's catankerous Pei Mei with a attached long white hair and beard. Or, dress as his favorite pupil, Kill Bill Bride.
