About Koala

The only member of the species, Phascolarctidae, the Koala is a vegitarian marsupial who resides in trees, native to Australia. Although they are often referred to as (and look similar to) a bear, Koalas are a species all their own and contain a pouch like many marsupials, such as kangaroos. They eat eucalyptus leaves which are slow to digest and have a calming effect. For this reason and similar diet, koalas have a lot in common with sloths in that they're very mellow. Koalas almost always have dusty grey fur are often seen as animal representatives of Australia
