About Knight

A knight is a male typically from the middle ages who was a gentleman soldier. He was part of the warrior class, riding into battles in order to protect the king. Knights lived by a code of honor. They were meant to uphold the values of faith, courage, loyalty, and of course honor. A knight was and still is considered a chivalrous man one who treated women kindly, but not as equals. The knight was meant to protect the women. Fairy tales always have a knight riding to the rescue of a princess. The Knights Templar were real, but they were also written about in legends. Don Quixote was also a fictional knight.

Dressing up as Knight

A knight costume will incorporate several pieces. First there is the chain mail which goes over the top of the tunic. The lower body is covered in hose then placed in a suit of armour. There is leg armour and then body armour. Most of the costumes are made from a thin material, though in real times the armour was made of sturdy metal. Spurs, livery collar, armorial rolls, surcoats, and a coat of arms on the shield will be needed to make a Knight costume. swords, and helmets to protect the head also exist. King Arthur and Valient are two possible knight costumes to choose from.
