You wanted the best? You got the best! The self-proclaimed "hottest band in the land," Kiss released their first album in 1974 and are still going strong today. Although the band has gone through various lineup changes, the band's two lead singers, bassist Gene Simmons and rhythm guitarist Paul Stanley have been with Kiss since its inception. What set Kiss apart from most hard rock and heavy metal bands was their unique look with each original member having their own persona and kabuki-like black-and-white makeup masking their identities.

Dressing up as Kiss

Don't worry about doing your own make up if you're thinking of dressing up as your favorite member of Kiss. You can dress as Gene the Demon, Starchild Paul Stanley, Catman Peter Criss, or Space Ace Frehley with officially licensed Kiss masks. Each one features black, rooted synthetic hair styled to look like each original band member's locks. Create your own Kiss costume with a black unitard and add your own embellishments. For a quick, cheap accessory, get a pair of boots and wrap them in silver tinfoil to look like the distinctive Kiss footwear the band was known for with their costumes!
