About Ketchup

Ketchup is a condiment made from tomatoes. The usual ketchup of today has tomatoes, spirit vinegar, sugar, salt, spices, herbs, and corn syrup. Heinz and Hunts are the most favored brands of ketchup. Ketchup dates back to early Asia and their fish sauce. It took several centuries before the English and Dutch reached Asia to learn about a tomato based condiment, which they eventually turned into what we consider ketchup today. In fact it was not until the 19th century that Ketchup appeared in America as it is found in the Heinz or Hunts recipe.

Dressing up as Ketchup

Dressing up as Ketchup is relatively simple whether you are a child or adult. There is a costume for everyone and every budget when it comes to the condiment. The ketchup costume is made with poly materials to help it hold its shape. The main body of ketchup will be in a tunic style with ketchup written on the front in white ink. To top of the costume you have a conical hat in a typical ketchup cap style. If you have a date you might ask them to be Mustard or Hot Dog. Ketchup can even be a family affair for costumes!
