About Kermit
Kermit is part of the Jim Henson creation. Jim Henson in 1955 created Muppets. The Muppets are puppets. In fact Jim Henson was the puppet master of Kermit the Frog until his death in 1990. From the very first appearance on Sesame street Kermit has been very popular. In fact Kermit even had his own show from 1976 to the 80’s called the Muppet Show. Kermit has many names such as Kermit the Frog, Kermie, The Angry Frog, and Froggy Baby. Kermit also had a show in the 80’s as the Muppet Babies. Television was not the only place for Kermit to be a star though. Jim Henson also created several movies with his other Muppet Friends. The first movie was Hey Cinderella in 1969. From there came The Frog Prince, The Muppet Movie (1979), The Great Muppet Caper (1981), and the Muppets Take Manhattan (1984). There have been many more since the early 80’s including The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992), Muppet Treasure Island (1996), and Muppets from Space (1999). Muppets from Space was the last huge movie in the series, as the rest have been made for TV.
Dressing up as Kermit
Kermit is of course a frog so any outfit you choose will need to be green and frog like. Kermit has a dark green body with a soft green stomach. The face will have white eyes with black slits and be rather large. The mouth is pink with a red heart shaped tongue. The costume would also not be complete without the banjo.
