About John McCain

The 2008 Republican candidate for President, John McCain has served as a Senator for the state of Arizona since 1987. Born on August 29, 1936, McCain was a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy where he learned the skill of naval aviation. He served in active combat duty during the Vietnam War and was a prisoner of war from 1967 to 1973. He has been heralded as a "maverick," for not always agreeing with the Republican party line. He has unsuccessfully run for the Republican presidential nomination before in 2000, but in 2008 secured a hard-fought battle to gain the nomination.

Dressing up as John McCain

With political fever sweeping the nation, John McCain is the hot Republican ticket for a costuming choice. Put on your best "conservative" suit (and don't forget an American flag lapel pin!) and a John McCain mask in either paper, high-quality vinyl, or latex.

If a younger John McCain is more your speed, you can dress as Vietnam-era senator with a military costume worn with the mask.

This makes a great couples' costume with either a Sarah Palin costume, or a Barack Obama mask!
