About Jewish
Persons who either practice the Jewish religious faith or who have ancestry stemming from the area now known as Israel are considered to be Jewish. The word refers to either or both a person's religion or heritage, although one does not neccessarily have to come from Israel to practice Judaism, nor does one have to belong to the Jewish faith if their ancestors came from Israel. The Jewish faith and people, however, are rather intertwined with the Torah and Old Testament of the Bible being both a religious text and a history of the Jewish people.
Dressing up Jewish
Celebrate your heritage or join in the festivities with Jewish friends with costumes and accessories. For Hannukah, decorate with a menorah and wear a blue and white Santa hat in holiday colors. Get in touch with your inner-Fiddler on the roof with a Rabbi costume with a long beard, faux sideburn forelocks, and a hat.
Celebrate other Jewish holidays with Purim costumes based off of legendary figures like Esther and Mordechai. Or, portray some of the most important Jewish figures of the Bible in a play by dressing up as Moses -- (Perfect for Passover!), Rachel, and others.
