Jason Voorhees was a deformed young boy who supposedly drowned at Camp Crystal Lake. His mother, a cook at the camp, blamed the teenage camp counselors for not watching her child and embarked on a spree of mass murder over time at the camp. The stories vary as to how Jason rose from the dead. One legend has that his mother brought him back, others state that when his mother was decapitated by one of her intended victims, Jason came back from the dead to pick up where Mommy left off. Wearing a hockey mask concealing his gruesome face, Jason's weapon of choice is a machete. Either way, the hockey mask sporting slasher has been a horror icon ever since!
