About Insects

Insects fall under the species classification of arthropods with hard, three-segmented bodies and an exoskeleton. Additionally, they have jointed legs in multiple pairs on either side of the body, and large eyes and antennae for feeling around and navigating. The species encompasses a diverse bunch of insects, from ones that fly and sting (such as {bee]s and wasps), beautiful winged butterflies, and even crawling insects like ants. While some are harmless, many people have allergies to such stinging insects like bees and even mosquitoes. Other insects, such as cockroaches, boll weevils, and termites are considered pests, either destroying crops or homes by eating the woodwork.

Dressing up as Insects

Take your pick of your favorite -- or least favorite -- member of the insect kingdom for a costume choice. Dress as a giant cockroach with an oversized brown bodysuit with heavy plush padding and large, twitchy antennae to wear attop your head. This baby's sure to clear a room!

Available in ladies' and little girls' sizes are costumes with beautiful, multi-colored butterfly wings to be worn with a tutu. Additionally, ladies of all ages may want to dress as a black and yellow bumblebee with striped costumes complete with a tutu, arm warmers, and of course, wings... Or a spotted red-and-black ladybug costume with a brightly colored dress and antennae headband.
