About Hot Dog

As we all know a hot dog is a type of food, but what is the history of the hot dog? It is actually a bit difficult to understand where the hot dog first originated from because there are many stories surrounding the first one. The typical thought goes to Vienna and the Wienerwurst. It was a sausage in the form of a long stick. Frankfurt also claims that they had the first hot dog in the 1480’s and that they called it the Frankfurter Wurst. Then in 1870 on Coney Island a German immigrant began to sell sausages with rolls. The idea was probably one from several centuries ago, and perhaps not based on any one person, but some with similar ideas. What we do know is that the hot dog has many forms from a beef, pork, chicken and pork, to a mash of different meats all used to form the link. We typically consider a sausage like Brautwurst different from the beef or all meat dog. You can also have a veggie dog.

Dressing up as Hot Dog

A hot dog costume comes in both children’s and adult’s sizes. You can even make a hot dog out of your pet if you need a costume for all family members. The typical hot dog costume will be a bun with a hot dog and condiments, which goes from the neck to the knees. There are typically places for the arms to stick out of the bun. Some of the costumes will actually have the hot dog surround the head. Mustard and Ketchup are two other costume ideas if the hot dog is not enough.
