Hippo Costume Ideas

About Hippos
The name "hippopotamus" comes from the Greek language meaning "River Horse." Originating on African continent in the sub-Sahara region, hippos weigh up to two tons and are the third-largest land mammal in existance. These large semi-aquatic creatures are closest to whales in terms of species, although they possess a mouth full of razor sharp teeth! Their skin also secretes a natural sort of sunscreen to protect them from the elements when they are walking on land instead of underwater.
Dressing up as a Hippo
A variety of hippo mascot-style costumes are available to suit both men and women who are "hungry hungry" for a unique ensemble! A plain, grey oversized hippo mascot type costume is available with a full-coverage head mask and bodysuit covered in thick, plush faux fur with an open, smiling mouth and attached hand and foot covers.
For a fun couples' costume, consider dressing as Henry Hippo and Heather Hippo, each with faux-fur covered full-coverage oversized masks and one-piece bodysuits decked out with either a pair of red overalls or a red polka-dotted dress depending on your hippo honey's gender!
