About Hercules

Hercules is a mythological figure and the son of Zeus. In recent history Disney did a film titled Hercules, about the Greek Hero. Hercules is said to be a man of steel, with plenty of strength to lift just about anything. As a hero he rescues damsels in distress, fights other mythical characters, and always saves the day. There was also a television show starring Kevin Sorbo. The television show ran for several years, ending in 1999. From Hercules the Legendary Journeys a spin off, Xena was created. Despite the lame story lines and often bad acting on the television show it was quite a hit among many.

Dressing up as Hercules

Dressing up as Hercules is quite easy for adults. There are plenty of choices for adult costumes, but few for children. You have two choices in costumes, either dressing in a more Greek look or Roman. The Roman style costume offers the leather sandals, red drape, and leather toga, with arm bands. For a more Greek style look you will have leather pants, with a leather tunic. You will still have the same style leather arm bands. Also the Greek style costume has leather boots, instead of sandals. To complete the costume you will need a long haired wig with a metal band. Other costume ideas include Zeus, Xena, and Samson.
