About Hagrid

Rubeus Hagrid, half human and half giant, may be the best friend you could have in the Wizarding World. He is supposed to be roughly 8 and a half feet tall. Although he's somewhat bumbling and naive at times, the giant-sized Hagrid has a heart of gold to match, having bailed Harry Potter and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasely out of trouble on more than one occassion. Having been tossed out of Hogwart's by being framed for something he did not do, headmaster and (in Hagrid's opinion) "The Greatest Wizard of All Time" Albus Dumbledore took pity on Hagrid, allowing him to still live on school grounds and eventually teach his own course, "Care of Magical Creatures," owing to Hagrid's love of all animals... No matter how dangerous they may be. Hagrid is played by actor Robbie Coltrane in the Harry Potter series of films.

Dressing up as Hagrid

You don't have to be of giant stock to dress as Hagrid! Officially licensed products are available to turn you into this gentle giant, such as a latex Hagrid mask with attached synthetic hair and beard and a Hagrid children's costume complete with Hagrid's long coat, tunic, and boot covers.

If you're looking to create your own Hagrid look, dress up with the Hagrid wig and beard set adhered with spirit gum and wear a Renaissance tunic in a golden color. Pirate boots in an earthen color are a great choice to add to this costume as is a wide belt and buckle to cinch your tunic.
