Green Costume Ideas

About Green

Green is more than just a color, it's an eco-friendly way of life. Green is the color of grass and various plants that give off life-sustaining oxygen into the atmosphere. It falls between yellow and blue on the color spectrum. Recently, the "green movement" and urge to "go green" has been adopted by many environmentally conscious people who wish to preserve the Earth. Some methods people have for "going green" include recycling, requesting paper bags instead of plastic or carrying their own reusable cloth bags when shopping. Larger companies are adopting green policies by switching to more environmentally friendly materieals that are biodegradable, preventing materials from sitting in a landfill poluting the atmosphere for over a decade. Another green alternative that is being explored is to find cleaner sources of energy for cars and powering the planet.

Dressing up Green

Although green standbys like the Jolly Green Giant and his miniature sidekick Sprout instantly spring to mind when you hear "green," other costumes with an eco-theme are also cropping up. Available in sizes to fit adult ladies and little girls is the Go Green Cheerleader costume in green and white with a sleeveless green cheerleader uniform top and green and white pleated cheerleader skirt. Another option is the Go Green Girl costume with a green mini-dress with "Go Green" emblazoned across the top, thigh high stockings, and a cute purse shaped like the Earth. The spats and pants were bought at a thrift store and costume shop.
