About Grapes

Grapes are a type of fruit that grows on vines in a clustered formation known as bunches. They come in two colors, green (which are slightly sweeter in flavor) and red or purple. Grapes are actually a type of berry and are eaten raw, used in deserts, made into jellies or jams, and can be crushed to make grape juice, or crushed and fermented to make wine. Dried grapes are known as "raisins." Warm, sunny climates usually produce grapes with California's Napa Valley being a top grape producer, as well as parts of Spain, France, and Italy being well-known for their grape vineyards.
