About Gollum

In J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings saga, Gollum was once one of the River Folk before he became consumed with the power of the evil ring creatued by Sauron. Warped and twisted by the power of the One Ring, the creature formerly known as Smeagol possessed the ring for decades, becoming wraithlike albeit preserved by this power. He came to be known as Gollum thanks to the awful, glottal noises he made in his throat and would refer to himself in the third person and to the ring as his "Precious." It was the Hobbit Bilbo Baggins who took the ring from Gollum and Bilbo's nephew Frodo who set about the task of destroying the ring, much to the chagrin of Gollum who alternately redeemed and destroyed himself.

Dressing up as Gollum
