A goat is a mammal. There are many species of goat from those in the wild to domesticated pets. Goats exist mostly in Asia and Europe, but there are also goats in North America like the Mountain Goat. They are also closely related to Sheep. Goats belong to the Bovidae family. They have been domesticated for thousands of years as food and a source of milk. Milk, meat, hair, and skin are common uses for goat. Female goats are known as Does or Nannies. The intact male is a Buck or Billie. The most famous use of goats in literature is the story of the Three Billy Goats who would not let anyone pass over their bridge without first passing their tests. Goat has been used to create mutton. They eat capeweed, shrubs, and trees. They are great grazers.

Dressing up as Goat

To dress up as a goat you have a few choices. The costumes do fit children and adults. Mascot costumes often are based on goats which brings us to our first costume choice. The mascot costume can be brown, white, gray or any other color. The costume begins with a jumpsuit with black hooves for hands and feet. The suit is normally made of a plush material. A tail will also be attached on the back. The hood or head is exactly like a goat in the face and horns. You can also have a costume with just the head of a goat if you wish. The other costume idea you have is the Billy Goat in which a plush jumpsuit without hooves has been created. The head is just a little hood with ears. This is an infant costume for you to make a whole goat herd. You may also consider the Alpine Boy costume with lederhosen, white blouse, and Robin Hood hat.
