With appearances in both literature and films, Glinda is a fictional character who is known for her sorcery and suggests that the term "witch" can refer to those who use their power for good, not just for evil. Some of Glinda's best known good works are giving Dorothy the ruby slippers, removing the sleeping spell cast by the Wicked Witch of the West in the poppy field, and finally sending Dorothy back to Kansas.
