About Gandalf

Tales of magic, a ring that brings ill will, and deadly beings is only a part of what you will have to look out for in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and JRR Tolkien novels. One of the greatest wizards of fiction is Gandalf the leader of the Istari Order, the Fellowship of the Ring, and the army of the West. Gandalf the Grey battles evil, helping Frodo to get through the deadly path they must travel to destroy the ring before evil will rise. In the first movie Gandalf’s fate is uncertain as he stays behind to fight a deadly force, but luckily this all powerful wizard is able to rise again and help in the fight once again. It is this period when he is sent back to help the fight that he becomes Gandalf the White. In the recent Hollywood films Gandalf was played by actor Ian McKellen, who also took a role in Harry Potter for the 2nd to the 6th movies.

Dressing up as Gandalf

Gandalf as a powerful wizard must have the right wizard looks and costume. Whether you are looking for adult or children’s costumes you will find the right size. With costume choices you have deluxe looks or the simpler Gandalf costume. For adults you can expect the grey robe and medieval belt to be the main aspect of the costume. To add to this look a brown pouch and wizard hat will also be included. However, you will want to add some Gandalf accessories to complete the look. The wig and beard will not be included in the main costume unless you choose the deluxe. The beard and wig must be long hair and white in color. You may also want to add the Scepter Gandalf carried and a white horse. Do not forget Frodo and all the rest of the characters like Aragorn and Legolas.
