About Fruits Basket

Fruits Basket is a Japanese manga and anime series. The manga originally ran in Hana to Yume between 1999 and 2006. It was turned into 26 episodes. The plot of Fruits Basket starts with Tohru Honda an orphan who meets Yuki Kyo and Shigure Sohma. Meeting these two people she leans that 13 members of the Sohma family are possessed by Chinese Zodiac animals. They are cursed. Anytime they embrace the opposite sex they turn into those animals. The story tells how Tohru and the Sohma family deal with the curse. Akito Sohma is a feared member of the family due to his curse. There are differences in the anime and manga, but most are slight.

Dressing up as Fruits Basket

When you dress in a costume from Fruits Basket you have Kagura, Hanajuma, and Tohru to choose from among other costumes. There are costumes for budgets as well as a variety of sizes for adults and children. For someone wanting to be Kagura you would need a green dress, with white sleeves. This dress should be formfitting in an A line style, and reach just above the knees. It also needs to be typical of Japanese Anime costumes. Don’t forget your Cosplay wig. For Tohru you would need a blue skirt, with a blue long sleeve shirt- which resembles a sailor outfit.
