About Frog Prince

The Frog Prince comes to us from a fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. The story has also been called the Frog King or Iron Heinrich. The tale tells of a spoiled princess who reluctantly decides to be a friend to a frog. The frog is not really a frog at all though. Instead he is a handsome prince who has been cursed. The Princess must kiss the frog in order to turn him back into his regular form. Of course the Princess is very unwilling. Other versions had the Frog Prince being thrown at a wall to break the curse. Disney has made it a more romantic tale. The Frog Prince will be gracing us once again in film with Disney’s The Princess and the Frog. The movie is coming out in December 2009. A frog is an amphibian. They are jumping animals with webbed feet. They like to jump into the water, up trees, and anywhere else. They lay eggs in the water to hatch into tadpoles. Most frogs spend their lives in both water and on land, but some frogs like tree frogs live in rainforests up trees. There are also poisonous frogs which exist.

Dressing up as Frog Prince

Frogs by nature are not always green, but we tend to create our costumes out of green, because it is the most popular color for the frog. It is their camouflage. However, your Frog Prince can be red with black spots, green with yellow, or any other color you wish. Frog costumes that are green offer a plush jumpsuit. This jumpsuit is complete with hands and feet. The feet are going to be webbed like a frog’s regular feet. To complete the costume a hood is attached. The hood provides the frog eyes. It also has a gold crown on the top to signify that it is a prince. You have many ideas when it comes to costumes like Kermit for a starting point. Do not forget to have the princess along. Princess Tiana from the new film helps make it a great couples costume.
