This dream-invading "cut-up" revolutionized horror films in the 1980s with his snarky quips before slicing up the hapless teens of Elm Street with is trademark glove full of razor-sharp finger knives. Once a living, disturbed soul who enjoyed murdering and harming children, Freddy Krueger was burned alive by the angry parents of Elm Street who felt that the law did not afford them or their children justice. As a result, Freddy came back from beyond the grave and became a REAL "Nightmare on Elm Street," his demonic, scarred visage and knife-gloved hand haunted the dreams of Elm Street's kids, making him a nearly unstoppable evil.
