About Fox
A fox is a mammal. These mammals are known throughout the world, though different species are found all over. The red fox is typical of some North American areas, while a white fox or snow fox is more typical of the arctic. There are actually 27 species of Fox in the world. They are part of the canid family. Foxes have narrow snouts, which are long. They also have pushy tails, and thin legs, with a sleek body. Foxes are smaller than wolves, but they are also very similar in appearance since they have the long face, and pointed ears. Fox tend to dine on invertebrates such as rodents, rabbits, reptiles, and other small mammals. They do eat grass and berries when other food is scarce. In a day they consume 1 kilograms of food. Some of the fox species are nearing extinction because they have been hunted for pelts or because they have raided the chicken coop too much! Foxes can be aggressive when hunting and breeding. Fox hunting is very common in the UK where dogs are used to find them, and then the hunters shoot them.
Dressing up as Fox
There are two very popular costumes for foxes. To dress up as a fox there are children and adult costumes. The first popular fox costume is the plush mascot. The costume is made from a polyester plush material that most closely resembles fur. This costume can be red, brown, gray, or any other color, though red is more common. The paws of the costume are usually black with a bit of white up the arms and legs. The rear of the costume does have the bushy tail. The costume then comes up to the neck and is two pieces. The second piece is the head. It is a helmet mask with the snout, eyes, and pointed ears, with a small opening to see from. Children’s costumes would have a hood rather than the full face. The second costume is Naruto which is known as the fox demon. Thus this costume has an orange jumpsuit, black head band, and Ninja style shoes with a yellow wig for the hair.
