A flower is considered a bloom. A flowering plant will have petals which open into a bloom. The flower of a plant is meant for the reproduction of the plants. The flower has the ability to produce seeds, which are carried away by birds and insects thus allowing for the proliferation of the plants. There are several species of flowers known to scientists. In past centuries there were more flowers than there are now. Development of buildings and communities has reduced some of the flower populations, deforestation of rainforests have whipped out a significant number of plants. Chrysanthemums, Dandelions, Carnations, Roses, Daisies, Irises, and others are popular.

Dressing up as Flower

A most popular flower costume is the 1970’s Flower Child. The costumes often include bell bottom pants or 70’s skirts. The skirts or pants will have flowers in psychedelic colors painted on them. For the top of the outfit a cami, with a sheer shift also with flowers would be appropriate. The head would be covered in a flower crown or with one flower on the side of the head. Platform shoes would then complete the look. A different style flower costume is actually related to the plant. A tropical flower for example may have green pants as the stem, with a green shirt, and to top it off a hat in the shape of the flower. Hawaiian lei are used for Hawaiian costumes such as Hula Dancer costumes.
