About Fish

There are a lot of fish in the sea, but when you are looking for costumes you usually find the most popular fish from movies, children’s books, or even such things as Sea World. Some of the more popular fish include the clown fish, Dr. Seuss Fish, Shamu, and even characters from the Little Mermaid. Fish are creatures of the sea that are pretty low on the food chain when you consider whales, sharks, sea lions and other big mammals that eat the fish. There are several kinds of fish from clown fish to butterfly fish. You have tuna, dolphin fish, halibut, salmon, and many more. As humans we tend to eat them for meals as well as swim with them in the oceans. Fish are characterized by their gills, cold blooded nature, and their scaly skin.

Dressing up as Fish

Above we mentioned some of the popular fish for costumes. By far the most popular is Nemo or the clown fish. There are Finding Nemo costumes for adults as well as children. The baby costumes are going to be full bodies with the feet in the tail and the fish head covering the baby’s head. The arms go into the flippers of the suit. For adults you have something a little different. Usually it is a horizontal costume that hangs from the shoulders, in which the fish tail is behind, and the fish head sticks out in front. There are also Dr. Seuss Fish hats for all sizes if you prefer the Goldfish over your other choices. Blue Whales or Orca costumes are also very popular among the adults and children.
